Is Venezuela really socialist if only 1/3 of the businesses are public?

Of course not. Even if all of the businesses were in the so called ‘public’ sector. Those would be state capitalist ventures.

Socialism is an advanced post capitalist global society, in which production is for use , not for sale, in which all the means for producing and distributing wealth are owned in common, (i.e. by us all) and not by states, public or private or corporate hands.
